Crim-inal Edit-ing

Big ups to Brian, who sent me an email to inform me about this.

The business at hand, first and foremost, is that Ms. Regina Spektor does some short guest spots on the new Crimea album. By "short," I mean there are a few tracks where she does spoken word sorta intros. It's interesting stuff, especially if you're a big Regina fan.

Also a big plus is that The Crimea are offering their album, "Secrets of the Witching Hour," on their website for download 100% free. Yes, if you click the link below you'll be able to download the whole thing for $0.00. I should mention that even without the Regina Spektor contributions, it's still a damn good album of indie pop that I'd absolutely recommend.

Now comes the mystery. In early downloads of the album, you had the tracks with Regina's intros. If you download it now, those intros are gone. Vanished. Nowhere to be found. The question is, what happened to them? Did the band remove them? Did Regina ask for them to be removed? Will they ever be restored?

My search for answers sadly turned up nothing. Does anybody know? Leave a comment or email me if you've got the info. In the meantime, here's a Crimea track off the new album with the Regina Spektor intro still intact:

The Crimea- Raining Planets (w/ Regina Spektor intro)

Bonus, non-album Crimea/Regina track:
The Crimea and Regina Spektor- Opposite Ends

Download the entire "Secrets of the Witching Hour" album from The Crimea's website

warner bros (regina's record company) made them take her off.

seriously? that's really tragic...and kind of a mean thing to do if you ask me. but what can you do i guess- it's a case of signing a record deal and selling your soul in many cases (unfortunately).
