Live Friday: 4-11-08

At last, after a few weeks of vanishing off the radar, Live Friday returns in fine form. If you're looking for an explanation as to where it went and why I didn't post anything on Fridays for a couple weeks, the answer is relatively simple: I'm busy. Yeah, as I have a legit job that sometimes causes me to work 6 days a week, now and then I simply don't have time to write up a post or upload some mp3s for all of you that I love so much. Anyways, I'm just thankful I'm able to get this in when I can. That said, this week M.I.A. makes her first appearance on Live Friday, with a few tracks she did on WXPN back in January just after New Years. Quality's good because it's a radio session, and when all's said and done there's not a whole lot different in these songs from the album versions. I guess when you're a solo artist and have all your music done via sample, all that's left is to fill in the vocals, which M.I.A. does here. Still, these songs are good fun and it's nice to hear Maya give a shout out to Philly during her ever-popular "Paper Planes." Check it.
