Additional Info: Wow this is impressive. To start, for those who've heard/own the "I Might Be Wrong: Live Recordings" disc, this version of "The National Anthem" is not the same one that appears on that CD. Traditionally I view live cuts as being equally or less impressive than the recorded and mastered originals except in select cases. Usually those cases where a live cut improves on the original has to do with radically reworking the song. In the case of this version of "The National Anthem," there's no change in song structure or lyrics. What you get out of this particular live version is a slightly faster tempo along with the pure emotion of Thom Yorke's voice, turning the song into almost another entity by doing virtually nothing. It's impressive and gives me a new appreciation for the track, as this version is twice as good as the one placed on the band's official live disc.
