Futurecast: 4-09-08
It's back! Yes, there was lots of love for the very first edition of Futurecast which I debuted a few Fridays ago. At that time I mentioned it'd probably be a segment I'd put in every few weeks on a Friday in place of the standard Live Friday, just to mix it up a bit. So here we are with a new episode of Futurecast, and this promises to be as equally eventful as last time.
Futurecast, to re-explain the concept if you missed it the first time, is my chance to jump forwards a bit and talk a brief bit about a couple notable releases farther down the road. See, normally I write about albums within a week or two of their release, and this represents a chance for me to help get ahead of the game a bit. Get the anticipation up a little more. Keep in mind these Futurecasts aren't reviews and don't really contain my opinions, just some cold, hard facts. The reviews come later when the release date finally gets close. So here's what I've got for you on this episode of Futurecast:
People are excited about the new Ladytron album. When the first mp3 went up a couple months back, I'm pretty sure I saw the link to it on most music blogs, and it rose up on the blog aggregator charts very quickly to the top spot. I've had the album for a few weeks now, and will write a full review when we get close to the June 3rd release date. But here's another song for you to take in.Ladytron- They Gave You A Heart, They Gave You A Name

My anticipation for the new album from The Notwist has been excessive to say the least. It's not something I've mentioned here, but you should probably know that The Notwist's "Neon Golden" is among my absolute favorite albums so far this decade. I'm only still digesting their brand new album "The Devil, You + Me" and (again) won't give an opinion here, but prepare yourselves for this record to land in your laps on June 17th.The Notwist- Boneless
