Live Friday: 7-11-08

Happy 7/11 everyone. Hope you went to your local convenience store and picked up your free Slushie. I got mine this morning before the crowds, ensuring the highest quality syrup-to-ice ratio before everything ran out or was watered down. Yum!

Okay, so for this week's Live Friday, I thought I'd give you some more Duffy after having some good-natured fun about her paternity earlier this week. Duffy performed a few songs on WXPN a few weeks back andn they were quite lovely, so I thought I'd make them available for your downloading pleasure. I've gotta say, despite the overall good-ness of Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black," it's really nice to have an album by a neo-soul artist whose personal life isn't a train wreck. So thanks, Duffy, for making good music and having a well-adjusted personality to go along with it.

Mostly though, I hope hearing these songs inspires you to check out Duffy's set at Lollapalooza coming up in a few weeks (if you weren't planning to already). Speaking of which, the next two weeks worth of Live Fridays will be dedicated exclusively to live music from Lollapalooza 2008 artists, which will hopefully get you more excited for the festival itself (which, by the way, I'll have full-on coverage of the festival this year starting July 28th with a preview and ending on August 4th with a final wrap-up- prepare yourselves!)
