Andrew Bird: Live at Millennium Park, Chicago, 9-3-08

One week ago, I wrote about an excellent (and free) Andrew Bird show at Chicago's beautiful outdoor venue Millennium Park. And while professing my love for the show, I made mention that somewhere down the line I would find and post the full show for all of you to download. Well, I'm happy to report that today is that day.

Thankfully, the show was broadcast on the radio and online, and a friend of mine happened to record a full, lossless copy of it. He then passed that massively huge file on to me, and I've spent the past few days editing it down to a manageable form. Unfortunately I don't have 800MB to spare in bandwith, which is why these downloads will be strictly high quality VBR mp3s. The difference in sound is negligible, unless you're an intense audiophile. But to be clear, the sound is so good you can hear crickets chirping in the background during the quiet moments when Andrew Bird is speaking to the crowd.

Speaking of which, I did what I could to cut out the crowd noise, but there is a little bit at the end of each song- mostly as a reminder that this show was live, because it oftentimes sounds like a studio recording. I've also left all the on stage banter intact, for those of you who obsess over the little things said (such as when the new Andrew Bird album is coming out).

Okay, that's all I've got to say. Enjoy!

Thanks so much for this! I'd found it in FLAC, but was hoping it would eventually show up in a format I could put on my mp3 player without needing to convert it. Much appreciated!!

thank you!! it was an epic concert, but there was much shouting up front that I couldn't really hear what was being said on stage. It's strange that he thanked us for rushing the stage, but it makes me smile anyway.

YOU ARE THE SHIIIIIIIT!!!! Thank you soooooooooooooo much for posting Mr. Bird's show! I am a huge fan of his and after living in Chicago for the past four years and seeing him pretty much everytime he stops into town, I was unable to be there AND watch the live feed on 93xrt. So thank you, thank you, thank you!
