Live Friday: 6-26-09

Another week, another Live Friday for all of you. And this one's a good one (though in their own way, aren't they all?). Last week many music-related sites got all excited about a few St. Vincent videos that popped up online, featuring Annie Clark performing a few of her songs on an acoustic guitar. She did it as part of a video series known as the Lake Fever Sessions, and it was perhaps most notable because Annie Clark doesn't really ever perform acoustic and in fact claims she doesn't even own an acoustic guitar. So naturally this was a unique occurrence, and it's always exciting to hear artists you know and love reinterpret their recorded songs in a different manner, and this is one of those times. Annie does the songs "Actor Out of Work" and "The Strangers" off her latest and greatest album "Actor," but she also adds a little spice with the acoustic performance of bonus track "Oh My God". It's all effortlessly wonderful, and of course I more than recommend that you download these songs as I painstakingly separated the audio from the video. If you would like to watch the videos and haven't yet, I've linked to them below. This makes me smile.
